There is nothing like getting up at the crack of a Scottish winter dawn, putting all your clothes on (which includes a huge ski jacket, gloves, beanies, 3 pairs socks) to capture the beauty that awaits just outside the warm centrally heated B&B.  I never regret it once I am home, after I have forgotten the freezing temperatures and only remember the sights, sounds and scenery.

This is Loch Lomond in the Scottish highlands, the other side of the dead of winter.
