It is amazing to think that the city of Cairo is really just and oasis in the great northern desert of Africa.  You only need to drive about 10 or 15 minutes out of the city centre (or a clear day – though not sure they exist) before you see the horizon of sand dunes and pyramids.  This man was walking past the great pyramids of Giza.

  1. I love this photo. If you could time travel back 3, 000 – 4, 000 years, you’d probably see something quite similar.
