The floods of 2011 in Brisbane, Australia were recorded just below this checker plate, part of an art installation marking the height of the previous devastating floods of 1974.  It can be found along the boardwalk at the Powerhouse Museum.  Walking along the river now it is hard to imagine its volume just a couple of months before. (Who thought you could get that much from checker plate painted red?!)
