Behind the lens

I LOVE taking photos!  For me there is something intoxicating, exotic and challenging about taking visual records of life’s experiences.  I am a recent purchaser of a digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR – for the technophobes) and a couple of nice lenses to capture my time living in Africa. I’m not sure what my longer term photographic aspirations are yet, but under my belt I have my passion, an introductory photography course and the desire to share my images.  Someone once said a picture tells a thousand words, I believe them, so in keeping with the KISS theory I will let my images do the talking.

If you want to find out more – about me or read about my travels and views it is possible to do this @ itchierfeet, where, incidentally you will also find some more photos!  Drop me a comment if you like what you see.

  1. Fantastic photos Erin, loved them all but especially the little things of life. I recently photgraphed a bluebottle fly sitting on a dewy blade of grass, ‘he’ sat so still for me, I’m sure he was posing. Thanks for sharing your views of this wonderful world of ours.

  2. Erin, you have a great eye – and obviously understand both the art and science of photography! Your travels are impressive, in what you care to see and the variety you open yourself to – the makings of man and the call of nature, the human and the colorful. Good luck.

  3. Great pictures, Erin. I was hoping for more sand dunes 🙂

  4. You have a great blog filled with lovely writing and beautiful photos Erin! I am South-African but have been traveling for the past 10 years and these photos make me long for home again! Will definitely be on the lookout for your next post!

    • Thank you so much Janaline. South Africa is such an incredible country too, so full of beauty.
