Those eyes. All the better to see you with. When it looked down at me, it felt like it could see right through me. Right to my soul.
Sitting amongst the Acacia trees in Sossusvlei, two Spotted Eagle Owls (Bubo africanus), residents of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, watched us from their perch. These owls stand to an impressive half a metre and have a wing span of up to 1.5 metres. Needless to say, I had no problem finding them with my camera lens.
